How we’re adding more value to your cattle business
As we strive to be at the forefront of the industry in all aspects, we continue to look for new ways to add value to what we offer our customers.
The next step in that is with our partnership with Neogen to further our genomic knowledge of the commercial replacement females we offer.
Starting with this offering of commercial females we will have Igenity Beef testing done with the goal of having more selection methods available for cattle in our program. Igenity Beef offers new methods of selecting bulls that fit your program when testing your cow herd and in selection of the females that fit your program whether you are focused on the Terminal or Maternal traits, or even if you are mostly interested in the Hybrid Vigor retained in an animal’s genomic makeup with the Envigor add on.
These tools paired with the continued effort to collect data at every stage of the animal’s life including DNA verified carcass and feed efficiency data will help us build Indexes for our customers and us to work together to find the right bulls and the right females to better our herds and to better the carcasses we hang on the rail.
Along with offering these products to our customers we are always excited to use these tools and others in our own herds as we will do at our Natoma ranch with direct offspring by our resident breed leading herd sires such as MCK Flint Rock 142 and LT Badge 9184. These calves will be born amongst calves sired by other NextGen owned or raised herd sires as well as elite Angus sired calves for a diverse field of cattle to track from Birth to Slaughter with the goal of continued progress in the quality of the product we offer our customers from start to finish.
These programs as well as more ultrasound data, AI, and ET in the breed all help us produce the elite genetics we will offered this fall at the Diamonds of the Flint Hills and Flint Hills Classic Sale as well as the exciting young stars NG Brett 1849J5 and NG Pine Tar 290J9. These Homozygous Polled bulls are a testament to their sires, MCK Flint Rock 142 and CJ’s Game Changer, abilities to sire easy calving, high performing bulls and females both that possess exceptional carcass quality and fleshing ability as well. And when it comes to these two standouts, the cows backing them is what makes them the most exciting bulls we have raised to date with the bred-in predictability of their pedigree along with the performance and quality that the market demands.
Siblings of Brett and Pine Tar exemplify what these genetics present to us in our continued effort to offer proven genetics backed by real world data and genomics. Animals like these and others we sold in our 5th Annual Flint Hills Classic is our goal to demonstrate what we strive to build to meet our customers’ demands and to push the program forward towards the Next Generation of possibilities in the industry.
